Women’s Middle East Peace Initiative

The "Middle East Women Leaders' Peace Council" was initiated in 1997 and has held an annual meeting every year since then, attracting the strong interest and participation of women leaders from countries throughout the Middle East. Morerecently, it has expanded its scope and developed into a more concrete, on-the-scene campaign. This series of initiatives has brought together prominent women from throughout the Middle East to explore the ways they can work together to advance peace in the region.

In 2004, WFWP Hong Kong partook in the Women's Middle East Peace Initiative by collecting signatures as part of an international campaign to call upon leaders in the Middle East to draw upon the strength of forgiveness and reconciliation in order to resolve its ongoing conflicts.
